Our inflatable rafting tour on the Rio Bueno is the perfect activity for families with young children and elderly participants.
Upon arrival you meet with your raft captain who assists you with checking in and putting on your safety gear. After gearing up, it’s time to follow your guide across the Irie Bridge and along the jungle path towards the launching point of the rafting tour.
As you arrive at the river’s edge and find your raft waiting, your captain provides some quick paddling instructions before you grab your seat and paddle into the river stream. Everyone in the group must work together as your raft captain steers your raft to the beat of the river currents. Most of the rapids are tame enough to provide an easy trip for everyone in the family, however there are a few class 2 rapids that will provide an opportunity to have some splashing fun along the way.
With your captain steering the raft from the rear, you use teamwork to navigate the beautiful Rio Bueno river while you float over various sections of class 1 and 2 rapids. As you enter the calm area under the almond trees, you can jump in for a chance to swim in the cool water and take a few moments to admire the wonderful scenery of the surrounding river valley. After your stop it’s time to take your seat again and let the river currents carry your raft over a few more rapids as you pass under an old colonial stone bridge and head towards the Caribbean Sea.
Your boat ride ends at a private beach which concludes the river portion of your excursion. At the beach you can have a swim in the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea, enjoy a few drinks at the bar with your friends and family, or just relax under the Jamaican sun until its time to head back to your cruise ship or hotel.
